Solitude and long-term stay out of the city, combined with routine and moments of peace so long and undisturbed that city dwellers cannot even imagine, refine the senses and observation abilities, as well as stimulate the inner world and imagination. By combining external sensations with internal images, an authentic authorial world is created, full of quietly whispered emotions revealed in the faces of the characters, which emerge from the background of the canvases in a similarly fragmentary and involuntary manner as memories or half-awake imaginings just before falling asleep.

Martin Nytra is an artist and agri-cultural worker who lives most of the year alternating between Czech Republuc and the Netherlands. He is a graduate of the UMPRUM’s Department of Fine Art, but at present he mainly maintains ties with his closest friends or observes the art scene closely, but from a distance. Probably for these reasons he is not very well known on the scene, although he is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and contemporary representatives of the younger middle generation. We are very happy that we managed to arrange a solo exhibition with Martin Nytra.
