I cast shadows, yes, but I don’t cast shadows for the guest. Let him get his own sunburn.* Ariane Koch
The everyday life of a hotel is determined by arrival and departure. In the rooms, terms such as fleeting or temporary intrude on the concepts of the domestic or private and set them in motion. We arrive, settle into the given structure, distribute what we have brought with us, unpack our things. Socks, pants and T-shirts scattered on the carpet. Given structure and fleetingly spread out things blend together. The interior reveals a very concrete understanding of what is assumed to be the condition of the private. It should be noted that this universality also expresses a prevailing order. What would be revealed behind one of the doors when we enter the room and follow the things quickly unpacked and lying around like signs?
