OFLUXO

In 2005, actor Susan Bennett sold her voice to what she initially thought was a generic phone messaging system. After six years of silence it was heard on millions of smartphones worldwide; now it was talking from its chamber beneath a screen of glass. The emergence of the virtual assistant Siri, was not just another technological asset that would contribute to an easier life, but also a story of how bodies are commercialised, as a consequence of a pact with the sea witch in the shape of a multinational tech company.

Made of sunshine is accompanied by a performance by LULU THE TOOL that looks at how political meaning and message are imparted and learned sonically. The performance will play with the qualities of analogue and digital sound to connect with its audience.

Asta Lynge works associatively across materials and processes. She is interested in the notion of progress and its inherent affiliation with technology.
Asta Lynge (DK, 1988) holds a BFA from Central Saints Martins (2012) and was part of the first iteration of the CSM Associate Studio Programme (2013 – 16). She has recently been showing works at dépendance (Brussels), BIZARRO (Copenhagen), Kunsthaus Glarus (Glarus), Cucina (Copenhagen), Celin (Oslo), Susanne Ottesen (Copenhagen), Le Bourgeois (London) and Lagune Ouest (Copenhagen).
