Flora Hauser

At SINK, Vienna, Austria

The boundaries between what we call reality and what is a binary image of this reality are progressively disappearing. Our everyday lives are shifting more and more into the digital world, and experiences take place – if at all – only on a screen. What used to be called snapshots are now screenshots. LOOK AT THIS GRAPH by Flora Hauser thus opens the door to a world in which the new normality has actually already arrived. In the digital, change happens many times faster than the earth revolves around itself, and the moment lasts for 24 hours. Exactly as long as an Insta-story. But these laws are not set in stone. The vine (to which the title refers to) should have disappeared a long time ago, like the platform itself – but has been given a second life on YouTube with several million views.
