“The home office has emerged as one of the most important residential amenities, thanks to an uptick in both self-employment and flexible working trends.” – Living Edge
Home Office is an exhibition of new work by David Attwood set inside of a residential apartment. The exhibition is concerned with ideas around work; the contemporary propensity (or obligation) to overwork, exhaustion, self-betterment, work-ethic and the virtuousness attributed to working hard.
These ideas are explored through a range of found objects that include domestic appliances, exertainment equipment, wellness technologies, liquid breakfasts and other commercial products for the home, bringing in to focus the increasingly absent boundaries between work and non-work, home and office.
