Farewell to Melancholy is a slow tread in an intimate space, where we moved with confidence in an indefinite past. Nevertheless, there is a gap between the last experience and the current rediscovery of the famous prison. It is an indefinable gap in time and lived experience, a gap in the surrounding world, which has changed irreversibly between our last physical presence and the reality of the present. It is a meeting of memories confronted by a changed reality. Farewell to Melancholy is a look back at an irreversible moment in time. At the same time, however, it is a new beginning, a slow orientation in the foggy gloom of a long-known one. We look around and slowly fragments of memories get stuck in our memory, but they acquire new contours, new situations and meanings. They say goodbye, but boldly walk towards another.
