Knowing that “This Spring arrived with the storm, And I know it will never end”, the exhibition invites us not only to reflect on the changes that are happening around us, but also to think about how we cope with these changes and how we can influence them. It is an invitation to reflect, but also to act – to find resilience, hope and determination in the midst of change. It is a reminder that it is possible to find meaning even in the harshest of circumstances. While it is sometimes hard to see through the storm, it is an opportunity to keep going, to step into the unknown and expect the unexpected. “Being and living through the storm” is a strong theme, referring to active engagement in the process of change, not just passive compliance. While the storm can be harsh and challenging, It is also an opportunity for development and can reveal hidden opportunities that would otherwise remain out of sight.
Various positions of human experience, such as the relationship with nature, personal introspection and transformation, are explored here in the context of timelessness. Time is a mutable, fluid entity whose image is constantly being redrawn. With the reframing of our perception of time from a one-dimensional, linear perspective to a multi-layered, dynamic image comes the realisation that the social and individual aspects of personal life are not fixed, and the individual aspects of personal life are not separate from our perception of time, but deeply intertwined with it. History, usually perceived as distant and separate from the lived present, is reworked here. Rather than being an intersection of past and present, history is ever present, shaping our present and influencing our future. It offers insight into lived social pressures and perhaps hints at possible ways forward.
In this story, the arrival of spring is not marked by the typical images of blooming flowers, singing birds and gentle rain. Instead, it comes with a storm. The storm here does not represent chaos, but a turning point. A significant change that creeps into our lives with a quiet whisper and reigns with a loud tumult. This spring represents a significant turning point, a transformation that is powerful, perhaps even violent, that shakes the foundations.
