In 1978 Werner Herzog published a diary “Of Walking in Ice‘’ – in the foreword he wrote that he received a call from his friend, that his friend a historian Lotte Eisner is dying. He was really eager to stop this and believed that the act of walking would prevent his death. He put his jacket on and walked for 3 weeks from Munich to Paris.
