Tonight I had the most marvellous dream. I was in the heat. I allowed a drop of water to fall upon my forehead. I imagined myself drinking white wine in the Caucasus Mountains. One foot in Europe, the other in Asia. One thumb in the Black Sea, the other in the Caspian Sea. Do you think this has a deeper meaning?
Portrait:
Q:If people evolved from monkeys, when did we lose our tails? A: Humans evolved from earlier apes, none of which have tails. Apes and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor that lived around 25 million years ago and did have a tail. Q: So, do monkeys eat bananas? A: No.
Still life:
I was sitting at the dinner party attended by myself, my friend and a painter. It was a long, white table, filled with all sorts of goods that I can’t consume anymore, really. All meat, nothing vegan. It had short legs and the seats where smaller, so that children could reach the meat. The lilies on the table were exquisite and the long candles in the silver candelabra were elegant. I heard the painter mention that skinny jeans are out of fashion whilst my friend mentioned that no ones talks about Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush anymore. Then, after a brief discussion about pop music, we fell into an argument about the dining room wallpaper, which the host had put after a renovation. I mentioned that if I was the owner, I’d choose a plain white wall color with an elegant parquet in chestnut brown, louver shutters, transparent silk curtains, faux-leather sofas, and a large table with four seats around the sides, and two facing one another. My friend suggested that he would put some nice flower boxes in the windowsills, once he mentioned that purple pansies are the best choice, I had to the disagree. The combination of french marigold, petunia and some greens makes me quite cheerful. The Painter agreed. She mentioned that God has quite a palette.
